Fabulous food and service
Had a great meal at The Lairds Inn today. Garlic chilli chicken with noodles was delicious as was the steak burger. The specials dessert Lemon Pavlova cheesecake was amazing. The girls serving were efficient and friendly. We would highly recommend it.

Best steaks for miles!
Honestly, you have to go to the Lairds and have the steak. We were in again last weekend and they were as good as you can get anywhere. Everything about the Lairds is great, the food, the service and the beer and choice of spirits.

Fabulous food and great service 👍
We ate here last night, myself, my 10yr old son and my parents, reserved online and received a very prompt email confirmation. I had the Rib-Eye steak - OMG, the best steak I’ve ever eaten, handcut chips and peppercorn sauce to die for! My folks both had huge haddock, chips & peas, cleared their plates - my mum normally has the appetite of a sparrow (!) and my son loved his chicken nuggets and chips - proper chunks of chicken, all the food was amazing and excellent value for money too! Highly recommend this lovely place . If I had one teeny tiny thing, we waited a while for the bill, but only as the staff were very very busy, very very pleasant though. Cath W
Our Golden Wedding anniversary and our daughter's wedding same day!
Where to start?. The Lairds Inn is approached through manicured gardens and small lake. The aspect over Wigtown Bay is stunning and the building is essentially a 14C Castle and Keep. We booked a buffet and what a buffet it was! hot snacky things jostling on the table with delicious prawns in abundance with Marie-rose sauce. Whitebait, Smoked Salmon (from a local smoke-house, fresh poached salmon (served cold, amazing flavour), potato salad, fresh bread and if this wasn't enough, baskets of freshly cooked battered haddock with chips and peas. No shortage of anything either - as the baskets of haddock were taken, their place was filled by more. The food was so good that 22 of us (who were staying all weekend in the area) had a meal there on the Saturday night at the Lairds and Sharon (the lady who runs the place) made a menu up for 2 or 3 courses as you preferred. We dined again in the big hall where a fire had been lit in a stunning granite based fireplace and again the food was brilliant quality and pretty much perfectly cooked (the home made mushroom soup was excellent). As there were only 12 people left on the Sunday, we decided to go back and have their Sunday roast. We just could not believe both the price and the quality. Kate (or Katie) seemed to be front of house manager and she never stopped, unceasing smile, no fluster just Miss (or Mrs) Fixit. She was amazing. Not one of the guests had anything negative to say about the weekend. Just brilliant over three days.!

Great food, service and value
We visited for evening meal and were not disappointed. The fires were roaring making it homely and we had great food and service. The steak was incredibly tender, and really good value. Would definitely recommend a visit.
We will be sure to be back!
It’s a shame, the negative reviews are prior to the new management, you’d think there would be some way to reset TripAdvisor.
This venue has certainly had its ups and downs, however under new management it seems to be on the up and long may that continue.
Thank you to the new team for a lovely dinner
